About the UWC short course ‘Diversity in action’

Since 2021, six UWC short courses have taken place under the EU Scholarship Programme for Cypriot Youth at UWC, supporting its mission of building bridges between Cypriot communities and empowering future ambassadors and activists for peace and reconciliation in Cyprus.

Funded by the European Union under the Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community and implemented by UWC, this scholarship programme was launched in 2019. Since then, it has awarded 64 scholarships to Cypriot students to attend a two-year programme at a UWC school in Europe. In addition to these scholarships, the programme has expanded its impact through short courses, providing a transformational opportunity to spread the European Union’s and UWC’s mission.

At the heart of all UWC short courses is an experience-based learning methodology, which moves beyond traditional classroom settings to adapt to specific themes, participant needs, and local contexts.

This summer, UWC Cyprus is returning for its seventh UWC short course. The course will take place in the village of Agros from 23 July to 3 August 2025.

The Diversity in action short course will bring together up to 36 participants from Cyprus, Europe and the Mediterranean region to explore and imagine ways to create inclusive and sustainable communities.

During the course, participants will live and learn together and be equipped with the tools to become young change-makers.

To support the success of this residential course, UWC Cyprus is looking for coordinators and facilitators to join the UWC short course team for our summer programme on diversity in action.
